Editor, The Spotlight,
Recently, there has been some misinformation in the media about the future of the Town of Niskayuna’s Transfer Station & Recycling Center on River Road. We would like to assure all Niskayuna residents that we are NOT closing or moving the Transfer Station & Recycling Center.
We realize there has been some confusion about the future of this important Town asset due to the pending discussions regarding the building of a new water and sewer garage. However, there have not been any proposals before the Public Works Committee or the Town Board seeking the moving or closing of the Transfer Station & Recycling Center.
On the contrary, we intend to introduce a proposal that would identify various capital improvements to the Transfer Station & Recycling Center. For that reason, we have begun a dialogue with concerned residents who have expressed an interest in working with us to make the facility better for all residents.
We encourage all Niskayuna residents to use the Transfer Station & Recycling Center on River Road on Tuesday, Friday or Saturday. Additionally, we ask any resident who would like to be part of the aforesaid discussions to please call the Town Supervisor’s office.
Sincerely,
Town Supervisor Joe Landry
Councilwoman Denise Murphy McGraw
