Editor, The Spotlight:
We have read the recent letters to the editor and we were very upset about the portrayal of the Niskayuna Senior Center. The rumors and bad publicity are by people that seem intent on spreading negativity. Most of these people do not even attend the center on a regular basis. Many people enjoy coming to socialize, attend trips, exercise, play games and have a great lunch. Yes, our numbers have not increased recently, but not because of the programs or staffing, but rather because of these recent editorials.
As dedicated employees, each with over eight years of service at the Niskayuna Senior Center, we are tired of this situation and are asking for tolerance, patience, and positive ideas for change.
We would appreciate the chance to do our jobs without these continuous unnecessary attacks. It is time to work together, put differences aside, and let us serve the seniors who want to be here! We thank those that have risen above the animosity, for their continued support of our senior center. We invite all seniors to call or stop by to see truly what we are about. Thank you and god bless.
