Editor, The Spotlight:
Sharon Sommer has been my Deputy Tax Receiver for the Town of Milton for seven years, and is very capable of continuing as Receiver of Taxes. She has a background of secretarial and business education with an AAS degree through the SUNY at Cobleskill. Having worked also at the Ballston Spa Central School System as Deputy Tax Collector, has given her additional knowledge of tax collection. Sharon has attended tax schools that were given by the NYS Tax Collector’s Association which keeps the office up to date regarding the tax laws.
Sharon’s excellent work habits, along with her pleasant personality are a great asset to this office. She is required to wait on people and is always pleasant to the people, even though sometimes the public can be rather crude, and/or rude. The first year that Sharon worked, I was in the hospital and she carried on the daily routine, keeping everything up to date.
Sharon has been a resident of the Town of Milton for most of her life. Her work record included working at the Saratoga County Complex and Ballston Spa Central School system, as well as 20 years at Cottrell Paper Company.
I am proud to endorse Sharon Sommer for the next Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Milton and hope voters will elect her for that position.
