To the Editor,
The Death of Democracy in Delmar.
I am and always have been a proud Democrat. I am very disturbed by the action of the Democratic Committee of Bethlehem.
Not once but twice this group challenged the signatures of the good citizens of Bethlehem who signed a petition for Kellin Rowlands, an unaffiliated, independent candidate for the Bethlehem Town Board.
Fourteen of these good citizens signed yet another document in front of a Notary saying “Yes, this is my signature.” And yet, the Democratic Committee of Bethlehem still challenged their signatures!
What is wrong with our Bethlehem Democratic Committee?
Both challenges were unanimously thrown out by the courts!
Did I mention that the Democratic Committee of Bethlehem did not challenge a single signature for the Republican candidate for the Bethlehem Town Board?
Is this the Democratic Committee that you and I want to represent us? Maybe it’s time to change the makeup of the Bethlehem Democratic Committee and the Town Board to better represent the people of Bethlehem.
Kellin Rowlands will put people before party as he has no national party allegiance. His primary concern is representing you, the good citizens of the Town of Bethlehem. Why not think about voting for Kellin in November?
Let’s begin a change in Bethlehem where the people’s concerns are what drives the Town Board, not pressure from the Albany County Democratic Committee, the Governor’s Office or national partisan politicians. People before party!
Vote for Kellin Rowlands!
