We’re challenging ourselves to wrap up 2017 with at least 1000 books checked out in the month of December. Read your way into the New Year and help out the cause! Each time you check out a book, initial a New Year’s Eve post-it note and add it to the wall.

All families with children who have not yet started kindergarten can participate in our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten–even newborns. Kids will receive books and incentives on their 1,000 book journey, and will be added to our library’s 1,000 books wall of fame when they reach their goal. Register at the Library.
Holiday Closings
The Library will be closed Saturday, Dec. 23 to Monday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holiday and Monday, Dec. 31 to Tuesday, Jan. 1 for the New Year. Visit us between the holidays – and, of course, ebook downloads are always available!
Simple Pleasures: A Writing Group
In this casual gathering, writers will have the opportunity to share their work and receive
peer feedback. Prompts for on-site writing will be offered. Whatever stage you are at as a writer or with a particular project, a trove of simple pleasures-including suggested reading, publishing opportunities, and performance venues- awaits you. Beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 10:30 a.m. to noon.

Read and discuss as a family Malala Yousafzai’s extraordinary journey as a 12 year old girl that stood up for education and dared to make a difference. The book is at a middle grades reading level. Copies available at the Library.
