If your child is a member of the Rubber Ducky Club, our early literacy program for babies and preschoolers, we know you’ve been busy building important talking, reading, writing, singing and playing skills together. So busy, in fact, that you might have gotten a little behind recording their progress online. That’s OK, we’re here to help! Stop by the Children’s Place and let us know how many activities your child has completed, and we can add them – all at once – to their account. That means they will be well on their way to earning those milestone prizes as they work their way up to 1,000 early literacy activities before kindergarten.
New Rubber Ducky Club members are always welcome. It’s easy to register online, or visit us at the Children’s Desk, and we’ll help get you started. To register online, go to: bethlehempubliclibrary.beanstack.org.
Everyone’s invited to a special Rubber Ducky Bedtime Stories program on Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. Wear your PJs and bring a stuffed friend to enjoy fun and stories before bedtime!
Be smart about cyberbullying
Do you know how to spot cyberbullying among young people? It’s not as clear cut as you might think. Join us Wednesday, Oct. 18, at 7 p.m. for “Cyberbullying: What Parents Need to Know” and find out how young people are using social media, as well as the telltale signs of cyberbullying. This program is co-sponsored by the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.
Your library at your fingertips
We’d like to remind you that Bethlehem Public Library now offers an app through the Upper Hudson Library System called UHLS Mobile, available for free in both Android and Apple app stores.
With the app, you can search the UHLS catalog, check the status of your account, place items on hold so they can be picked up at the library, access digital items like eBooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines, and look up library hours and program calendars. For more information and to download UHLS Mobile, go to uhls.boopsie.com.
