What have you been listening to lately?
I listen to WAMC, public radio and when I am not listening to that, I listed to the birds. We have some great birds here in town including morning doves, wood peckers, blue jays and many, many more.
What have you been reading?
I read articles from the [New York]Times, the New Republic, and the New Yorker. The last great book I read was “Enrique’s Journey” by Sonia Nazario, about an immigrant boy who endures untold hardships to come to the U.S. to re-unite with his mother.
What is your favorite show on TV?
I’m not much of T.V. watcher but HBO has some great series now such as “The Wire” and “The West Wing.”
What was the last movie you saw?
I can highly recommend “Spotlight.”
Could you describe what your dream vacation would be?
I like the outdoors, so plenty of time hiking in the woods followed by a swim in a secluded lake is all I need.
What are some of your hobbies?
I like to use recycled wood to create picture frames and other items that are useful around the house. I also spend a lot of time in my organic garden.
What would your last meal be?
Oh my god, not yet!
Who is the one person (dead or alive) that you would most like to meet?
I’d love to spend an evening with Pete Seeger in his little cabin listening to him sing and strum his guitar and banjo. He recently died at age 93. During his long life, he made more people aware of the necessity of protecting the environment than anyone I can think of.
What is your favorite local moment?
I love running into friends and neighbors at our locally owned businesses, at the farmers market and hiking on our local nature preserves.
What three things would you bring to a desert island?
Food, water and a sail boat.
