What are you listening to these days?
What I like the most is kind of fusion jazz, although I like Santana. I (recently) went to the University of Albany. I don’t remember his name, but it was modern piano music. But Wagner is the one classic pianist that gives me goose bumps.
What are you reading?
I’ve got this project going. I’m reading the diaries of presidents. So I started with George Washington, and now I’m at Andrew Johnson, which is really painful once you get to his presidency. I read books on photography otherwise. I’m reading “Anna Karenina,” too, because my wife and I went to Russia this past year.
What are you watching on TV?
My wife and I tend to not keep up on the latest shows. Right now, we’re going through “House of Cards.”
What was the last movie you saw?
We just saw “Birdman.”
Who is one person living or dead you would like to meet and why?
George Washington. He seems to have been popular. He managed to do so many things in his life. He was surveyor, he was an expert farmer. He was incredibly brave and intellectual.
Describe your dream vacation.
We like vacations. We do that, so we don’t just dream, we actually go. I guess one of my favorites was the Galapagos Islands. We did a 10-day tour going from the most recent developments to the oldest ones that were the least developed.
What is your favorite hobby?
Photography. This one was easy.
Describe what your last meal would be.
Probably something Indian. I think I would get a sampler, so I could remember all of the things that I like.
What is your favorite thing about the library?
I think it’s helping people. That’s the nicest thing about it. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a job where you just help people that walk in the door. It is nice to think that, well, I can just help people.
What is one book you would recommend and why?
“Creating WE” by Judith Glaser. The whole idea is to work toward making people feel like we’re all together, and to work together. And we have it here at the library.
