DELMAR — When people shop for a home, the quality of the neighborhood plays a role in the decision making. That applies to apartment living, too.

Adams Station Apartments bucks the concept that apartment living promotes nothing more than a bedroom community; where neighbors live next to one another but continue to remain strangers.

“That was a misconception,” said Samantha Raynor, director of leasing and marketing, “from what I’m seeing in [our] community.” Since hiring Chris Oretel, Adams Station’s new property manager, Raynor said the complex has focused on community activities. The complex is comprised of 282 units spread out over 55 acres. Blood drives, ice cream socials, yoga — social events to coax residents outside to meet one another and to enjoy the newly renovated clubhouse. “The reception has been amazing.”

The clubhouse has been ideal for residents to use for gatherings, parties and the everyday getaway, said Raynor. It’s also a place for organizations such as the Girl Scouts and Toastmasters to congregate. It’s a similar community model shared amongst all of The Spinney Group properties. The clubhouse develops into “the epicenter” of neighborhood activity.

Adams Station Apartments was designed to make one feel at home in a special place. The apartments have been given extra touches such as breakfast nooks, window seats, vaulted ceilings, and private patios and balconies. Featuring a number of amenities including a swimming pool, community garden, fitness club membership and two tennis courts. Adams Station Apartments offers a pet-friendly environment, and accommodates family life, too.

“It’s summer, and everyone wants to be outside,” said Raynor. The pool accommodates games for kids to play, as does a newly added poolside patio. Another new addition, to roll out later this month, are several charcoal grills for outdoor barbecues.“You can have an electric grill, but the flavor just isn’t the same.”

The complex resides within the acclaimed Bethlehem Central School District. Eagle Elementary is a five-minute bike ride away from home, as is Bethlehem Central High School. The district’s middle school, for grades six through eight, is just ten minutes away on two wheels.

Bicycle rentals is an additional amenity at Adams Station, allowing residents to take a quick jaunt to Delmar’s Four Corners or a brisk ride along the county’s rail trail that stretches from Voorheesville to Albany.

Adams Station Apartments’ wooded setting features attractive two-story construction with one and two-bedroom floor plans offering amenities that include central air, cable and wireless internet, a clubhouse, swimming pool, sauna, community gardens, tennis courts and 24-hour maintenance.
