ALBANY – A Colonie man pleaded guilty to felony criminal possession of a forged instrument, Friday Sept. 16.
Mark Reed, 49, had in his possession a counterfeit insurance company check that was made payable to another individual, according to Albany County District Attorney David Soares. Also, he created counterfeit checks and attempted to have others redeem them at check cashing locations in the Capital District.
Reed has been convicted of similar offenses in Rensselaer County, and will be sentenced to 3.5 to 7 years in prison when sentenced by Albany County Court Judge Roger McDonough on Friday, Oct. 28.
