State police seized more than a pound of cocaine following a thruway traffic stop in the Town of Bethlehem.
State Police from Troop T in Albany pulled over a tan Honda Accord on Saturday, Dec. 28, around 3:30 p.m. for a traffic violation on I-87 north in the Town of Bethlehem.
According to police, when troopers interviewed the driver, Trevaughn J. Banks, 27, of Albany, they knew something was amiss when his story allegedly changed multiple times.
A state police K9 unit was called to the scene and upon completion of the investigation, Troopers said they found 1.2 pounds of cocaine inside the vehicle.
Banks, alone in the vehicle, was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the first degree, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree (narcotic with intent to sell), and parole violation.
Banks was arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court and remanded to the Albany County jail where he is being held pending a felony hearing.
