A town resident who witnessed a burglar fleeing from her home allowed police to make a swift arrest of a Schenectady teenager for two burglaries.
Rotterdam police on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at approximately 2:06 p.m., responded to a reported burglary in progress at 2730 Myrtle Ave. The resident said she heard noises inside her home and went to investigate it. She then saw a man allergy fleeing from the home and various items were stolen, according to police reports.
She provided a description of the burglar, and police arrested Romello S. Hill, 17, of 1611 Van Vranken Ave., Schenectady, in the “immediate area” of the burglary. Police said Hill was in possession of stolen items from the home.
A resident at 2909 Myrtle Ave. also reported to police a separate burglary to a garage around the same time.
