A 29-year-old local race car driver was killed Thursday when a tree he had been cutting down struck him, according to Coeymans police.
J. C. Flach of Tompkins Road in Coeymans Hollow died at approximately 5:45 p.m. at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he had been transported to shortly after the accident. Police said family members and first responders tried to perform CPR at Flach’s family property, where the accident occurred, but were unsuccessful.
Flach, along with his brother Keith, was part of a stock car racing family team named Flach Motorsports.
