An overturned tanker trailer spilled approximately 3,000 gallons of whey product on the entrance ramp of Thruway exit 25A, according to police reports.
State Police on Friday, July 6, at approximately 7:52 p.m., responded to a report of the tipped tanker trailer in the Town of Rotterdam. The tanker rolled over on its side at the bottom of the entrance ramp, said police, and landed on grass adjacent to the roadway.
The driver, Robert Mason, 57, of Waterville, incurred minor injuries and was transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
The eastbound entrance ramp was closed for approximately one hour while the vehicle was up righted and removed, police said. Investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
The South Schenectady Fire Department, state Department of Environmental Conservation spill response and state Department of Agriculture and Markets assisted State Police.
