Colonie police are investigating an armed home invasion that occurred in the morning on Monday, Feb. 6.
According to police, officers were called to the Village One Apartments Building E Apartment 10 around 8:50 a.m. for an armed home invasion where the male victim said he was confronted as he exited his apartment door at 8:30 a.m. by the suspect, who forced him back into the apartment at knifepoint. Police said the suspect tied up the victim and stole two unloaded shotguns, one unloaded rfile, two cameras, several hundred dollars in cash, the victim’s wallet and the victim’s vehicle, a black 2009 Mazda 6 four-door sedan.
The victim freed himself from the restraints before calling police and was not injured, according to police.
The suspect is described by police as a black male in his 30s, 6 feet with a Caribbean accent and wearing a blue or grey hooded sweatshirt, blue pants, white sneakers with blue stripes and a blue handkerchief covering his face. The stolen vehicle has a New York license plate ENA4041.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone who sees the vehicle is cautioned to not approach it and to call 911 immediately, said police.
