Alfred H. Zwack Jr., 19, was indicted by a grand jury on Tuesday, Jan. 17, for recklessly causing the death of a Latham man on Nov. 26, 2011, according to information from Albany County District Attorney David Soares’ office.
Zwack was arraigned on one count of manslaughter in the second degree, a felony, one count of criminally negligent homicide, a felony, one count of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting as a felony, a felony, one count of reckless driving, a misdemeanor, one count of aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, a misdemeanor, one count of operation of a motor vehicle by an unlicensed driver, a violation, one count of failure to keep right, a traffic infraction, and one count of passing in a no-passing zone, a traffic infraction, according to information from Soares’ office.
According to information from Soares’ office, around 1:42 a.m. on Nov. 26 in the area of Quail and Elk Streets in the City of Albany, Zwack struck the victim with the vehicle he was driving, left the scene and failed to report the incident to authorities.
