An elementary school teacher in the Ballston Spa Central School District has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Timothy Brehmer, 35, of Broadalbin, was arrested after federal investigators allegedly found child pornography images on his computer on or about Dec. 6. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
Brehmer was a music teacher at the district’s Wood Road complex, and in a statement from Superintendent Joseph P. Dragone the district said he was suspended when the district was notified of the investigation on Wednesday, Dec. 7.
“The school district is both appalled and disappointed to have been informed of these charges and we take all such charges very seriously. Any teacher who engages in this type of behavior will not be employed by our district,” Dragone said.
Brehmer was released pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for Dec. 27.
