Four people were arrested on drug charges in the City of Cohoes on Thursday, Dec. 8, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s office. Stephen N. Harper, 32; Alkindo R. Harper, 24; and James Mayotte, 41 were arrested as the result of a search warrant and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felony, criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a Class D felony, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor, according to police reports. The three individuals were arrested after sheriff’s investigators and members of the sheriff’s Emergency Response Team executed a warrant at 615 Saratoga St. in Cohoes and recovered $3,802 and more than 1.5 ounces of crack cocaine, according to police reports. Corrine M. Bentley, 27, a neighbor, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor and endangering the welfare of a minor, according to police reports. Police said Bentley was found in 615 Saratoga St. when the search warrant was conducted, had a crack pipe in her possession and had left her 3- and 5-year-old children alone. According to police reports, the exterior of the residence and hallway entranceway was equipped with covert audio and video surveillance system and the subjects attempted to barricade the door on the SWAT team members as they were making entry.
