A Malta man was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 20, in connection with a string of burglaries in Saratoga Springs, according to police reports.
Last week, Saratoga Springs police received four reports of burglaries to residences and multiple larcenies from parked vehicles in the area around Horizon Drive, Vista Drive and Laura Lane off of Crescent Avenue, according to police reports.
Darryl Mount, 19, of Malta, was arrested and charged with three counts of burglary in the second degree, a class C felony, and one count of criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree, a class A misdemeanor, according to police reports.
Police allege that Mount entered three occupied homes in the area during the overnight hours and stole several small items. Police conducted a search warrant at Mount’s residence wit hthe assistance of New York State Police and recovered several items that they allege Mount stole during the crimes, according to police reports.
Police said they believe that others may have been involved with some of the crimes and are still investigating the rash of larcenies in the area and are requesting anyone who may have been the victim of a crime who has not yet reported the incident to do so.
Police said they have increased patrols in the area in response to the activity.
