When it comes to getting physically fit, the owners of eStudio believe in the whole-body approach, offering classes in yoga, Barre and Spinning that encourage a mindful way to wellness.
But Karli Goering, who owns eStudio with Emily Clausi, said what really sets their business apart from others in the fitness industry is the people teaching the classes.
“We have a great range of instructors,” said Goering, touting their training and commitment to their students.
She says some of the instructors at eStudio are even qualified to teach in multiple disciplines, like Barre and Spinning, and all of them keep up to date with the latest practices and techniques.
The first eStudio opened about four years ago in Latham, with a second branch making its home in Clifton Park. In early December, Goering and Clausi opened a third eStudio at Vista Technology Park in Slingerlands, and that one has a little something extra.
“The Vista one is new and different because it offers Spinning classes,” Goering said, adding that it is one of the few cycling classes in the area that actually has the credentials to use the official “Spinning” name.
All of the studios offer Barre classes, which use a ballet barre to help practitioners strengthen and lengthen muscles, as well as what is called “hot” power yoga, in which the room is heated to 90-95 degrees to aid flexibility. Goering says that the temperature also helps the body detox because it promotes perspiration. Classes are available for all levels of fitness, from beginner to advanced, and always offer the latest techniques.
“I think that’s the great thing about yoga is everyone can do it,” said Goering.
Goering said she and Clausi decided to open eStudio in Slingerlands because they saw a need to bring their combined fitness offerings to the area. As they welcome new customers, they hope to become an even bigger part of the community.
That commitment to the community is part of the overriding philosophy of yoga, and as such, the eStudio practitioners have teamed up with Seva Warriors, a group of yogis who organize events for a good cause that “gather people from all walks of life to get on their mats and practice for change, peace and unity.” A recent event held this month was a benefit for Molly’s Army, which supports a mother of three who was paralyzed in a car accident in May.
Goering said that as traffic continues to grow at the Slingerlands eStudio, she encourages those interested in seeing what the studio is all about to take advantage of the reduced pricing of $110 a month for unlimited classes. To increase its visibility in the coming months, the studio will offer yoga workshops open to the public that focus on specific techniques. Those interested can find out more at www.estudiohot.com or the eStudio Facebook page.
The three eStudio locations are: 5 Vista Blvd., Slingerlands; 595 New Loudon Road, Latham; and 1707 County Route 9, Clifton Park. For more information, call 944-5139.
