The public will have a chance to weigh in on the Wemple Corners superhamlet project proposed for the Glenmont area.
There will be a public hearing at the start of the Bethlehem Town Board meeting on the scoping document for the environmental review of the project, which is being undergone pursuant to the developer’s request to have the land rezoned to “hamlet.”
The environmental review will cover issues like traffic impacts. The scoping document is an optional step in the review process to stipulate how big of an area and what elements the developer will have to look to in the environmental review.
Wemple Corners is proposed as a development of 470 apartments, 56 twin homes and 145,000 square feet of various commercial space at the corner of Wemple Road and Route 9W. Some of the apartments would be set aside for seniors.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Bethlehem Town Hall, 445 Delaware Avenue, Delmar.
