DELMAR – Bethlehem police are conducting sweeps of the Bethlehem Central School buildings this morning after schools in the area and Bethlehem specifically received a threat. The district sent out a message to parents this morning.
“BCSD All BC schools are currently in a LOCKOUT while the Bethlehem Police Dept investigates a bomb threat sent to BCSD and other school districts in NYS. All students and staff are safe. Schools will HOLD IN PLACE with instruction continuing while investigation continues. More info in email,” the text read.
As of 10:40 a.m. police completed some sweeps and will continue lockout procedures.
Officers and K-9 units are continuing to check the buildings and also other private schools in the area.
North and South Colonie schools received no direct threat as of 10:15 a.m. and are not in lockdown, but both districts are monitoring the situation and are aware of the regional threat.
Burnt Hills- Ballston Lake is also in lockout due to a direct threat.
