COLONIE — The Garnet Raiders girls soccer team upset a tough Guilderland squad 1-0 on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
About 10 minutes into the second half of a scoreless game under the lights on a damp, chilly night Hailey Blake scored the game’s lone goal on an assist by Kayla Novak.
Emma York made two clutch saves as the game wound down to preserve the shutout and the win for Colonie. She had five saves on the night.
Standout keeper Molly DiCaprio had seven saves for Guilderland.
With the win, Colonie goes to 3-2-2 and Guilderland slides to 3-2-1.
Colonie will play at Albany on Friday, Oct. 30, and Guilderland will play at Shaker on Saturday, Oct. 31.
