COLONIE — The owner of Saratoga Autos was arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 8 for allegedly producing fake dealer assignment license plates from Texas.

According to Colonie Lt. Robert Donnelly, a prior traffic stop of a vehicle with a bogus plate opened the investigation into the Central Avenue used car dealer.

Colonie police, State Police and the state Department of Motor Vehicles and Environmental Police investigated.

John Dzandza, 36, of Schenectady, faces the felonies of forgery, possession of a forged instrument, falsifying business records and reproducing a false license plate.

The investigation is continuing.
