COLONIE — Acting on a mother’s tip, police arrested a 25-year-old Florida man on a host of charges including criminal possession of a weapon.
According to Lt. Robert Winn, the mother called police on Sunday, June 7 asking for help locating her 17-year-old daughter. She believed the daughter was at the Red Roof Inn on Wolf Road with an older man using illegal drugs.
Police went to the motel on that day and found the daughter with Pierre Gray, who initially allegedly lied about his identity to hide the fact there is a felony warrant out of Florida for his arrest.
A search of the room uncovered an illegal 9 mm handgun loaded with nine rounds and an additional 32-round magazine. A small amount of marijuana was also discovered in the room.
Gray was arraigned on the felony of criminal possession of a weapon, the misdemeanor of criminal impersonation and the violation of unlawful possession of marijuana.
