ALBANY — Two more county residents — a man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s — died from Monday to Tuesday bringing the total number of fatalities to 51.
All but two of the 51 were older than 60 and all but one had underlying health issues.
There are 1,236 confirmed cases in Albany County, up 12 from Monday, with 1,107 under mandatory quarantine, up six, and the number under precautionary quarantine stays the same at four.
As of Tuesday, there are 33 Albany County residents hospitalized for a rate of about 2.7 percent.
Albany County has conducted 12,084 tests, by far more than any other county in the Capital District region.
Rensselaer County has conducted 3,900 tests with 339 positive results, Saratoga County has conducted 5,800 tests with 368 cases, Schenectady County has conducted nearly 5,000 tests with 537 cases, Warren County has conducted 1,663 tests with 192 cases, Washington County has conducted 1,272 tests with 188 cases, Green County has conducted 1,309 tests for 166 positive cases, Columbia County has conducted 1,600 tests with 229 cases,
There are a total of 133 fatalities across the eight-county region.
