Schools across the country are closed due to COVID -19, so for two hours the teachers and staff drove through the neighborhoods — with Colonie police on hand to keep the caravan moving smoothly — honking horns and waving to students they haven’t seen since the middle of last month.
Scores of students and their families came out with signs like “Keep Shining Saddlewood Stars” and “We Miss You” and “Saddlewood rules, COVID drools.” Other residents along the route stood on porches or came to the window to clap and wave as the parade rolled by.
Last week Roessleville Elementary teachers and staff went to say hi to their students. You can view those photos by clicking here.
