COLONIE — Police confiscated an illegal handgun and made two arrests while patrolling the Days Inn motel at 1606 Central Ave.

According to Lt. Robert Winn, officers Austin Blais and Alvin Guererro received information from officers Javier Martinez and Kyle Keane that occupants of room 201 were involved in drug dealing and illegal weapon possession.
Miguel Pagan, 34, of Albany, and Davon Manning, 25, of Niskayuna, were seen exiting the room on Wednesday, March 4 at around 9:55 p.m.
They got in a 2019 Dodge Charger and Blais and Guererro were spotted committing a traffic violation.
They were stopped at the intersection of Central and Hawley avenues and found to be in possession of MDMA, or the illegal drug ecstasy.
A search of room 201 led to the discovery of a loaded handgun that was determined to belong to Pagan. The origins of the handgun are still being investigated but Pagan is prohibited from owning a handgun because of three previous felony convictions, Winn said.
Manning was charged with the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance and released on an appearance ticket.
Pagan was arraigned in Colonie Town Court on the felony charge of criminal possession of a weapon, the misdemeanor of criminal possession of a controlled substance and the traffic infractions of failing to stop before entering a roadway and unsafe lane changes. He was sent to the Albany County jail without bail.
