COLONIE — Sand Creek Middle School and Colonie High School were placed in lockdown for about 45 minutes as police investigated a report of possible gun shots.
According to Lt. Robert Donnelly, multiple units answered the 12:15 p.m. call on Friday, Feb. 8, after a Sand Creek staffer reported hearing “two loud bangs” that sounded like gun shots from west of the school property.
The buildings were immediately placed in lockdown and officers remained on site while a search was conducted of the neighborhood.
No threat was discovered and the lockout was lifted, but some officers remained at the schools as a precaution.
