Correction: The previous version of this article reported North Colonie School District’s race for school board was uncontested. Timothy O’Connor and Paula D’Orazio are running for one seat on the school board. We’ve provided a link to the district’s website that has provided profiles for each candidate.
CAPITAL DISTRICT — Local residents will take to the polls next week to determine the fate of public school budgets, and those aspiring to earn a seat on their respective school boards.
In this week’s editions of The Spotlight and The Colonie Spotlight, our readers will find a breakdown of the school budgets in our area. This includes any proposed increases, and propositions voters will decide upon.
Each year, we ask candidates to complete a questionnaire, the answers to which we share with you. This year, you will find those answers exclusively on our website.
Bethlehem Central School District
Guilderland Central School District
Not every school district is represented this year. That is because not every seat is contested. For example, Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk has three seats open for its school board, with three contestants running for those seats. Colonie and Voorheesville school districts each have a similar situation, therefore you won’t find candidate profiles for those districts here.
Polls open Tuesday, May 16. Be sure to read your copy of The Spotlight for more information.
