Thomas Murray, concert organist, recording artist and university organist and professor of music at Yale University, will present an organ recital at First United Methodist Church, 603 State St., Schenectady, on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at 3 pm.
Murray, who is widely known for his interpretations of Romantic repertoire and orchestral transcriptions, has won many awards and has recorded more than 15 CDs. His program at the church will includeFanfare by John Cook, From Holberg’s Time by Edvard Grieg,The Pastoral Sonata by Joseph Rheinberger, Robert Schumann’s Four Sketches for Organ or Pedal Piano, and two movements fromSymphonie II by Charles-Marie Widor.
