Question: Why are you running for town board?
Answer: The Town of Colonie is a terrific place to live and raise a family. Making sure Colonie remains a safe, sound and fiscally secure community has, is and always will be my reason for running for a seat on the Town Board.
Q: How will your experience serve you on the town board?
A: I was employed by Albany County for 34 years. During that time, I worked in the Public Assistance area, helping people/families receive assistance when they needed it most. I also worked as a welfare inspector, making sure these same benefits were not abused by people.
The experience I gathered during this time has helped me listen, understand and try to help find remedies for the problems/concerns/situations of the people of Colonie.
Q: What do you think are the biggest challenges facing the town?
A: An aging infrastructure, sewer and water pipes must continue to be addressed.
Paving of our over 310 miles of roads is also a challenge.
Our Police and EMS Departments need to be given the resources necessary to keep the population of over 81,000 residents safe and secure.
Q: What are your ideas for addressing these challenges?
A: Working with our Departments of Pure Waters and Latham Water. Multi-year replacement/upgrade plans are in progress to address these concerns. Extending these projects is of great importance.
Once again, working with our Highway Department on multi-year paving plans is again of great importance and should continue.
Police and EMS are in an ever changing technology world. We should continue to develop ways to share resources with other agencies to help our police and EMS better serve our community.
