The town’s Industrial Development Agency launched its new website its second annual Economic Development event on Thursday, June 4.
The website was presented by Director of Economic Development and Planning Rob Leslie.
“We are very proud of the new website,” said Leslie. We see this as a one-stop location for businesses to learn about the Town, financial incentives available from the IDA, as well as other local, state and regional programs that may be available through the Town’s assistance.”
The new website includes an interactive mapping system of available commercial and industrial properties and vacant land in Bethlehem. The map has information on the space available, zoning, the availability of water and sewer, information on daily traffic volume, and direct links to the listing realtor’s website and contact information.
Leslie said the site was designed in-house by the town’s Geographic Information Systems Specialist Keith Menia.
“The added benefit is it keeps the visitor on the town’s website to increase the probability of learning more about what the town has to offer,” said Leslie.”We want them to look at the towns programs, schools, groups and other amenities.”
Visitors can click on a parcel and a detail card comes up, giving information on details like sewer and water access, traffic, ect. There is also a direct link to the commercial realtor representing the building or land. Visitors can also directly email them from the site with questions or information.
About 50 people attended this year’s Economic Development event held at the former Bule Cross Bule Shield building on Maher Road.
Event guests included elected officials, town Planning Board and Industrial Development Agency members, state and regional economic development professionals, realtors and developers.
Last year’s event was a tour and was one of the first major projects undertaken by the town’s newly appointed Senior Planner and Economic Development Coordinator Elizabeth Staubach. It was hosted in conjunction with the Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency.
