Police received a call around 9:20 p.m. Thursday, March 5, reporting a structure fire at the Bethlehem Industrial Park. First responders arriving at that park, located at 1521 Route 9W in Selkirk, observed flames coming from a larger warehouse.
The burning building housed several business storing construction equipment and lumber. Authorities said the building was unoccupied during the blaze.
Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before extinguishing the flames. The Selkirk Fire Department was assisted by several neighboring fire departments, along with fire fighters from Albany and Greene counties.
The Bethlehem Police Department’s Fire Investigations Team and the state Office of Fire Prevention and Control are continuing to investigate the incident to determine how the fire started.
