A formal groundbreaking ceremony has been scheduled for Dec. 15 at the Vista Technology Park off Route 85 in Slingerlands.
Developers of the 1.4 million-square-foot complex have received commitments from ShopRite, SEFCU and Berkshire Bank. More than 80 percent of the park is zoned for technology businesses, manufacturing and other office space.
Construction is underway on Vista Boulevard, the 3/4-mile long road that will lead through the park and connect to Route 85.
In November, the Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency approved payment in lieu of taxes, or PILOT agreements for the first three tenants at the tech park. The agreement will result in nearly $200,000 in tax breaks.
“This will be a time to celebrate all that has been done to jump start the largest economic development project in Bethlehem’s history and to tell everyone about what Vista’s exciting future will mean for the Town of Bethlehem and Albany County,” said Bethlehem Supervisor Sam Messina.
An announcement about new tenants is also expected at the groundbreaking.
The groundbreaking will be held at noon at the Vista Technology campus. The public is welcome to attend and refreshments will be provided.
