A $516,000 Community Development Block Grant has been awarded to Owens Corning Insulating Systems, LLC, to help expand their operations in Bethlehem.
The grant is a part of $4.2 million awarded statewide to 15 businesses. The money will be used for employee training and the creation of 93 jobs.
The stipulation is that more than half of those jobs will be made available to low-to-moderate income individuals.
The awards are the result of an application process through the state which began in May.
“With these successful joint ventures between government and private industry, we can attract more business and investment to our state, creating and retaining even more jobs,” said Governor Andrew Cuomo.
