Schenectady County Community College President Quintin Bullock is a finalist to become president of Stark State College in North Canton, Ohio, according to college officials.
Chairwoman of the SCCC Board of Trustees Denise Murphy McGraw praised Bullock for his achievements at the college, which include securing the largest federal grant in the college’s history for its healthcare workforce development programs, launching downtown Schenectady classes at Center City, breaking ground on the new Music Building and moving forward with plans to add a 264-bed residence hall. Also, she said he helped the college prepare for the future with its five-year strategic plan.
“From his first day on the job, Dr. Bullock has proven to be a transformational figure who has achieved every goal the board has set for him,” McGraw said in a statement. “It is with heavy heart, yet great pride I announce Dr. Bullock is a finalist for the position of president of Stark State College in North Canton, Ohio.”
McGraw added Stark college has almost 20,000 students and is a “significant presence in higher education” and workforce development in Ohio. She said the Bullock was presented with an “outstanding opportunity” to become president at the Ohio college. The college’s board appointed Bullock to president of the college in 2008.
“On behalf of all of the trustees, I wish Dr. Bullock well in the Stark State search process, but remind him and everyone else he always has a home here at SCCC,” McGraw said.
