The developer of The Gables at Delmar is changing the design of some of the townhomes in the project that’s now under construction on Delaware Avenue.
Keystone Builders has applied to shrink several units from a two-story design to a one-and-a-half story layout.
Keystone owner Steve Bolduc said that some potential buyers expressed a desire for something a bit smaller than the full, 2,200-square-foot design.
We feel that we were limiting ourselves and the community to only the larger floor plans, he said. `I think it’s a good move, we’re just trying to get a little more flexible with some of the unit sizes.`
Keystone plans to scale down six of the development’s 27 planned units, though it could end up being more as the rest of the project is built. With an upstairs loft, the smaller units would total 1,900 square feet.
The footprint of the buildings would remain the same and there’s no changes planned for their exterior appearance, though the smaller units would naturally be a bit shorter.“
