A teen who brought a loaded shotgun into Crossgates Mall in April has been sentenced to four years in prison.
The sentence was handed down today to Marcelle Chandler, 16, who pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a felony, in May. Under the plea agreement struck with the Albany County District Attorney’s Office, he will concurrently serve one to three years for criminal possession of stolen property.
Chandler was observed by Macy’s security at the mall shoplifting polo shirts. When search, it a loaded, sawed-off shotgun was also found in his backpack.
Assistant District Attorney Daniel Lynch handled the prosecution of this case.
