Colonie Supervisor Paula Mahan ran down a list of accomplishments made by her administration last night at a campaign kickoff event for the town’s Democratic candidates.
What we’ve done in the past three and a half years, most administrations couldn’t do in 15 years, she said. `We have been pushing ourselves because we’ve had a lot of challenges and had to meet a lot of those challenges so the town could move forward in a positive way.`
She highlighted the success of the Planning and Economic Development Department that has brought in projects such as the Fresh Market Plaza in Loudonville, the Route 5 Corridor study, the Route 32 corridor study and the Railroad Avenue study.
Mahan also highlighted the administration’s ability to maintain good relationship with the area schools and it’s ability to maintain services for residents of the town and many of its youth. The pending private partnership fir the town’s landfill was hailed as the `best thing that can happen to this town` by Mahan.
She exuded a fair amount of confidence that she and the slate of Democratic candidates will be successful in the upcoming election and warned that the town won’t head in the direction it needs to if it goes to Republican control.
`There’s a lot of work to be done,` she said. `It won’t be done unless we get in there again and not turn it over to the people who created this.“
