State Police are looking for two people who robbed Glennpeter Jewelers in Halfmoon of $70,000 worth of jewelry on Monday, July 4.
According to police reports, the burglary occurred around 3:15 a.m. on July 4 at the jewelry store on 1505 State Route 9 when two suspects entered the store by breaking one of the windows. Upon entering the premises, one of the subjects broke seven of the display cases and gained access to the jewelry, at which time the subjects each loaded a separate bag with jewelry and then fled the store through the broken window in an unknown direction, according to police reports.
According to police reports, a description of the suspects is as follows:
Suspect 1 was wearing a jacket which was black in a vest shape with gray sleeves. There was writing on the chest portion which appeared similar to OO or `OC`. The jacket had a black hood which the subject was wearing as well as a black bandana to cover his face. He was wearing light colored gloves and dark pants. He was carrying a light colored bag with a brown line along the opening and a square on the side. He had a gray shirt underneath the jacket.
Suspect 2 was carrying a gray headed mallet style hammer with an orange or yellow neck and black handle which he swung with his right hand. He was wearing a dark bandana with light design pattern on his face, light colored gloves on the top portion of the hand which were dark on the palm side, a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. He was carrying a dark colored bag.
