Residents of the Good Samaritan Lutheran Home in Delmar kicked off a week of Olympic games on Wednesday, July 6, with opening ceremonies.
The Olympic events will be held in the mornings for about a week, with events like dartball, beanbag basketball, noodle golf (where pool noodles are used to hit balloons into a box), noodle javelin and bowling. There will also be one day when the staff have their own events for the residents to spectate.
A closing ceremony is to be held Thursday, July 14. This is the second year the home has held the games, and organizers said they were a big hit last summer.
