The superintendent if the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Central School District will be leaving to take another job after two years heading the district.
Daniel Teplesky’s resignation was accepted by the Board of Education on Wednesday, June 29. In a release, the district acknowledged Teplesky’s leadership during times of unprecedented fiscal pressures .
`I’m proud of the work we have accomplished during the past two years in preparing for the state’s more rigorous learning standards and improving student achievement,` Teplesky said in a statement. `I also thank the many dedicated and talented educators and staff at RCS for their commitment to the community’s children.`
The past two years have been tough budget years for all schools, and at RCS voters have voted down budgets twice. In 2010 the district adopted a contingency plan, and this year they passed a revised budget on a second vote.
Teplesky will be taking up the position of superintendent at the Monticello School District in Sullivan County, west of Poughkeepsie. His resignation will become effective Aug. 1.
