The Albany County Independence Party announced earlier this morning that it will be endorsing Democrat Dan McCoy for county executive.
Dan McCoy is a proven leader in county government, as evidenced my his efforts to trim spending, and his service in the military and as a firefighter provide a solid foundation for the values a leader need, said Independence Party Chairman Paul Caputo.
McCoy, the former chairman of the Albany County Legislature, met with the part a few weeks ago, according to the release, seeking its endorsement for the race.
`I am very pleased to have the support of the Independence Party, and I think it speaks to my commitment to work cooperatively, regardless of party, to effectively govern,` McCoy said in a press release. `My campaign will be centered around my believe in cooperation, particularly in the areas of job creation and economic development and pursuing shared service agreements to make government more efficient and cost effective.“
