A Saturday traffic stop on the Thruway in Bethlehem resulted in three arrests on felony drug charges.
State Police said about 700 packets of heroin, 10 grams of crack cocaine and about $3,000 in cash were seized after a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder was stopped for speeding at about 4:17 a.m. Police said drug paraphernalia was in plain view during the stop, leading to a more extensive search.
All the occupants William D. Jones, 33, of Brooklyn, Stephen Jones, 46, of 2325 Monroe St., Schenectady and Antoinette B. Zwicker, 29, of 2325 Monroe St., Schenectadywere charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third and fourth degrees, both felonies.
William Jones was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree and was also found to be on parole. Zwicker was also charged with Criminal Possession of Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree and Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, both misdemeanors. She was also found to have an active warrant out of the City of Schenectady for prostitution, police said.
All three were remanded to the Albany County jail, Stephen Jones without bail, William Jones on $50,000 bail and Zwicker on $30,000 bail. All were scheduled to reappear in Bethlehem Town Court on June 6.
