State police on Sunday, March 27, arrested two on drug charges following a traffic stop on the Thruway.
Troopers at about 1:49 a.m. pulled over a car for traffic violations in the Town of Coeymans and allegedly found the driver, Michael J. Rumrill, 47, of St. Andrews Drive in Clifton Park, to be in possession of hypodermic needles, a misdemeanor crime.
His passenger, Erica C. Melendez, 23, of Chrisler Avenue, Schenectady, was allegedly in possession of several glassine envelopes containing heroin. She was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, both felonies.
Melendez was remanded to the Albany County jail on $25,000 bail with a court date of March 31, and Rumrill was released with an appearance ticket.“
