The Guilderland Basketball Club’s 3rd/4th grade girls team edged Bethlehem 21-19 Nov. 13 to claim the Troy CYO Fall Fling Tournament title.
Jamie Golderman scored 10 points and added five steals and four assists for Guilderland. Colette Cohen contributed seven points and four steals.
Cohen scored 18 points in Guilderland’s semifinal win over Our Lady of Victory earlier in the day. Nicole McGrath had a big game for Guilderland in a tournament-opening win against East Greenbush, scoring 11 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
The winning streak ended Nov. 14 with a 17-16 loss to Clifton Park on a desperation shot late in the second half. Cohen scored 12 points for Guilderland.
In other GBC action Nov. 14, the biddy A team earned its first victory of the season with a 26-16 win against Averill Park. Clare Thompson scored 12 points, while Olivia Baumann added five points and 11 rebounds for Guilderland.
The biddy B team suffered a 23-15 loss to Averill Park. Emily Burns led a balanced Guilderland attack with four points.
The junior B team defeated Averill Park 30-18 behind Megan Bruni’s eight points. Madison Harrigan and Lindsey Garrant each added six points.`
