The Bethlehem girls swim team took the top two places in the 400-yard freestyle relay to pull out a 98-88 victory over Guilderville in Tuesday’s meet at Voorheesville High School.
Guilderville took a 79-77 lead after placing two swimmers in the top three of the 100 backstroke before Bethlehem tied the meet at 86 by doing the same in the 100 breaststroke. That set up the showdown in the 400 freestyle relay.
Bethany Powhida and Haley Goodrich each won two individual events for Bethlehem. Powhida took first place in the 200 individual medley and the 100 butterfly, while Goodrich won the 200 and 500 freestyles.
Lauren Zemering (100 freestyle) and Grace Ayer (100 breaststroke) also won individual events for the Lady Eagles.
Jenna Bickel took first place in the 50 freestyle and the 100 backstroke for Guilderville. Kristi Russell added a victory in the 1-meter diving competition.`
