The Schenectady Police Department notified State Police approximately two weeks ago about a possible Murder for Hire case.
An investigation conducted by the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Princetown and the State Police Special Investigation Unit resulted in the arrest of Alexei Ramey, 21, of Turner Avenue, Schenectady, on Thursday, Sept. 30, for the felony charges of conspiracy in the second degree and conspiracy in the fourth degree.
Ramey is alleged to have hired and conspired with another individual to stab a 19-year-old female acquaintance, said police. The female acquaintance is over 8 months pregnant and Ramey’s main target was the unborn child, according to police.
Ramey was arraigned before the Village of Scotia Judge, and remanded to Schenectady County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Ramey is scheduled to appear in Scotia Village Court on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 10 a.m.“
