A man arrested in late August on charges of growing marijuana at a Delmar warehouse pleaded guilty to criminal possession of marijuana in the first degree in an Albany County Court today.
Ray Marshall, 43, of Bethlehem, was accused along with two other individuals of growing marijuana at 772 Delaware Avenue, where police said an unrelated investigation led them to conduct a search. They recovered 300 plants and 60 pounds of pot, according to police, along with growing equipment.
Marshall owns dozens of rental properties in the City of Albany, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s officer, many of which were purchased through the open bid auction system run by the county.
Marshall will receive up to three years in state prison and two years of post-release supervision under the plea agreement. He is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
